Health and Safety is of the utmost importance to our company and we take seriously our responsibility to both our customers and our employees. Consequently, all our Engineers and Supervisors are trained and accredited in Confined Space Entry, including the use of escape breathing apparatus. Refresher courses are taken every three years.
All Engineers and Supervisors are fully trained and accredited New Road & Street Works Act 1991. Also being fully compliant in Local Authority and Health and Safety Regulations.

PART 1 General statement of policy
The company accepts all legal responsibilities for securing the health, safety and welfare of all its employees working on its behalf.
The company will ensure and maintain safe and healthy working conditions as much as it possibly can.
The company encourage all employees to maintain and be actively involved in maintaining safe operating conditions and practices.
The company regularly review this policy to ensure the high standards of health and safety are maintained.
PART 2 Organisation
Overall responsibility for health and safety in the company lies with the director who will: Ensure suitable financial provision is made for health and safety obligations Provide appropriate information and instructions to employees regarding health and safety.Ensure work is planned to take into account health and safety issues.All employees shall at all times take care of themselves and have due regard for the health and safety of others who may be affected by their work activities
PART 3 Implementation
Contents of this policy are drawn to the attention of all employees, who then present their views on health and safety for existing and proposed jobs.
Carried out continuously by employees throughout their work.Hazards are considered and work methods established to minimise the risk of injury to themselves and others affected by the work.
When employees do not have sufficient knowledge about a specific hazard, they will take further advice from the health and safety advisor if required
Employees are given training appropriate to their responsibilities. Training is specifically provided for work with hazardous substances, equipment and PPE.
Additional training will be required for new work activities when dealing with unfamiliar equipment or substances.
Formal method statements will be prepared in writing when risk is high.
In case of emergencies, company procedure will be followed, preceded by following the client procedure.
Arrangements are established at each site, utilising client facilities whenever possible.
All equipment is subject to routine maintenance on a regular basis ensuring it is suitable for use, taking into account various factors including statutory testing.
Personal Protective Equipment
PPE is provided for work activities requiring protection. It is maintained by the individual subject to routine checks.
The risk associated with hazardous substances is considered for all work activities. Alternative less harmful substances are used wherever possible. In case of risks to health PPE is provided and used by the employees. Unidentified potential hazardous substances encountered during the course of a work activity are referred to the client and advice is taken from the health and safety advisor as appropriate.
First Aid and Accident reporting
Employees carry first aid equipment at all times, but also arrangements are made with clients to use their first aid facilities. If this is not sufficient, assistance of emergency services may be required.
All accidents are reported and logged at the main office and those defined as statutory notifiable are reported to the appropriate enforcing authority.
Risks are considered prior to each work activity. The method of work is adapted to minimise manual handling risks wherever possible, including use of alternative lifting and carrying methods. Our employees are advised not to handle loads manually, which they feel incapable of moving safely.
All employees remain vigilant to the risk of fire.
The safety of the members of public is taken into consideration at all times and appropriate protective action is taken.
