General Drainage Inquiry: This service is designed to give customers information before they purchase a site or apply for planning approval. We supply written observations concerning our view on the current availability of the public sewer network along with any restrictions on discharges and building near to public sewerage.
For this type of enquiry, concerning the public sewer network, it is Company policy to charge for our comments. A tiered price structure, based on site area in hectares, is used. The relevant charges for each response can be quoted upon contact:
Please send an Ordnance Survey plan (scale 1/1250 or 1/2500), with the site clearly marked, together with a cheque for the appropriate amount.
Where known, please inform us of the type of development proposed, likely number of units and anticipated rates of discharge (in litres per second) of foul and surface water.
We aim to give you a written response within 14 days of receipt. Our response will be in respect of the public sewer network only. It will include comments on the availability of public sewers and a complimentary extract from the Statutory Sewer Map.
Please note that our comments will be made based on a desk top study; a site visit will not be made. You can assist us, therefore, to give you a well-informed response by making us aware of relevant site information. If known, please indicate on your plan information such as: high and low points, watershed(s), the general direction(s) of fall, the preferred drainage outfall route(s) and proposed point(s) of access etc. Please also supply a copy of any topographical survey that you may have.
